Sponsorship is an important
source of income for WYN-FM Community Radio. It is one of a number
of important sources of income necessary for the running of a community
radio station. Over our years of operation WYN-FM have been able to
operate our station economically and efficiently without having to
compromise on the quality of our sound and signal.
What is a Sponsorship Announcement?
Being a community radio station, we are not
allowed to broadcast advertising material. Community stations are
permitted to broadcast Sponsorship Announcements. These do not
differ much from the advertising that can be heard on commercial
radio. We like to think that they are not as offending or in your
face as commercial advertising, however they do get your message
across. Our Sponsorship announcements promote our sponsor's
business, describes the services they have available and acknowledge their
support of our station.
What do our sponsors receive?
Organisations that sponsor WYN-FM gain in
two areas.
Firstly, they are able to position their
products and services to the community that they service, our listeners.
Secondly, not only do they promote their
business, but they are actually helping the community. All money
raised by WYN-FM through sponsorship goes back into the station and
returned into the community through the services that WYN-FM provide.
Our Coverage and Audience
WYN-FM's community of interest (our focus)
is the City of Wyndham and the surrounding areas. However, our
signal can be heard outside of our community of interest to at least a 50
km radius from Werribee. This includes areas such as Torquay,
Bacchus Marsh, Springvale and Frankston.
Due to the variety of programs that
WYN-FM's announcers prepare we reach a very wide range of listeners from
all age groups with all types of music and talk style programs.
